I wanted to be Steve Carlson when I was a mere Pee Wee. My mom hid the tin foil for years after she learned of this.

I first saw this in 78' when our house got cable. saw it a chajillion times. 'Slap Shot', Pong,'Bad News Bears' and 'Smokey and the Bandit' added to my reparte of couch potato pioneer. Cool post. thank you for the flashback to the days of dial oriented fun.

they are in fact filming it in the small town where I live in southern BC. the trailers were parked outside our small-town arena.

ever notice that "slap shot" doesn't even have a real ending? no wrap up, no closure, they just fight and *bam*, it's done. wierd.

Hey! My mom was in this movie!

The team is based on the old 1974-75 Johnstown Jets that my father used to play for.

Oh, the stories....

Although I have been told that Slap Shot II is going to be a direct to video release.... there is no way they could ever match the original.

Looks like I'd better move my Hanson Brothers action figures to the top of the TV.
