These are very keen, and remind me of quite a few drawing books I had as a kid, including the jump from basic shapes to OMG it's a hawk! I'm want to find my old book on how to draw Australian animals now (it was complete with odd little rhymes about the animals, too).

OK, this, this shit here....this shit here is the best of the Web. I also think it's awesome that the final picture in each series that depicts a predator features the predator with a dead animal hanging out of its mouth.

I find it interesting that in most "How to draw ____" books, the things being drawn look very flat. I understand it is beginner's drawing tips, but a lot of these things will stick with the potential artist until (if) they learn otherwise. This post is very interesting! I always love seeing things like this.

"And yes, even a rhombus!" Wow, I'd completely forgotten about Ed Emberly. I used to combine shapes from my dad's drafting templates to make all sorts of abstracted animals, and Ed Emberly's probably where I got it from.
