The Smoke Filtration Systems are a series of sculptures that are also working marijuana water pipes. The mechanics of each pipe are thoroughly tested, but the actual sculptures are presented in clean, unused condition.

I think these are sort of cool and all but I really wish that Dieter Rams designed a bong. Bongs are so ostentatious and busy and.... wizardly. I don't know but a colored glass bong with relief pot leaves and dragon swallowing and being swallowed by the other half of a yin yang dragon doesn't fit well in my tastefully austere danish modern digs.

I had a dealer who'd make his own artsy ceramic bongs, and if you got stoned at his house that's all he jabbered about (and tried to peddle). Well that and early Genesis, which he had playing every single time I stopped by. It did not make for a pleasant high.

They are hookas. Hookas suck, and so do those smoking with them. Pity, as they are rather pleasant to see. This is why bongs are so popular, as they don't suck, and neither do the smokers (not hard, anyway, which is the point). Also, bongs don't have hoses that get clogged. Bongs are efficient. Hookas are very much not.
