From the same blog, this made me laugh. Though "You ever read Marvel Ruins where instead of becoming a green-skin giant, the gamma bomb turned Bruce Banner into a mountain of tumors? If you haven't, don't. The comic sucks." is a bit harsh - it IS a terrible jumble of writing, and the art sucks, but there's some great ideas in there, including tumour hulk.

Wow - this originally ran in Weekly Bokura Magazine beginning in 1970, and not bound as manga, so this is fairly rare, according to this forum post.

And of course, wikipedia already knew about this, though there's no sources cited. But you can see © 1970 The Marvel Comic Group on this scan, giving some proof to the weird 1970s Marvel cross-marketing attempt. And there I was, thinking Koike Kazuo had some personal interest in The Hulk. Surprisingly, Spider-Man: The Manga had some violent scenes edited out in the late 1990s US translation/re-publishing. I didn't realize that 1970s Japan was more open to violence in their main-stream manga than 1990s US in their mainstream comics. I'm sad Marvel used that font - you know, that one. It was edgy when you were 12 and you downloaded all those free fonts.
