You may not know this, but camels are very large creatures. Note at the bottom that he says it's still a baby camel, and while it's getting very large, it's probably not full grown yet. I do not ever recommend fucking with one, though the destruction of that bin might have already suggested that course of action to you.

Ever had a camel spit on you? Happened to me once, at the Birmingham (Alabama) zoo, when I was about, oh 13 or 14. The beast was just on the other side of his fence, and we were looking each other straight in the face. The camel was no more that a foot and half away. Suddenly, without warning, SPLAT! An enormous amount (like, say a tall glass of water's worth) of camel saliva mixed with gritty bits of hay flew out of his mouth straight into my face. Charming.

I just love the noise they make, soooooo ugly. Ben Burtt used these sounds, sped up, for the Tauntauns.
The reason the camel spit on you is because you were staring at it, flapjax. Camels find this rude. In fact, they are ornery, so they find most things rude.

Isn't the bactrian (two hump) camel on the verge of extinction? (Looks it up.) Ah, yes, in the wild, though there is a bit over a million of them as domestic animals.
That aside, this dromedary camel looks happy with its bin. I know diddly dip about camel raising, but I'm a bit alarmed (from a horse owning perspective) that someone is riding a camel that's only a year old, you generally don't get on a horse until it's three or so.

He's in love with my friend's car. He walks to the spot where she parks it every night before she gets home and settles down to wait for it to come.
So that may explain why the camels are in the car. How is still unresolved, because camels are kind of huge.
That's awfully cute, though. And camels are not cute animals.

The owner says he only gets on him when he's cushing (laying down), which would be easier on his frame. No stress on the legs that way.

Cataline - camels and giraffes are both artiodactyls (even-toed ungulates) but they aren't very closely related. Different suborder. Giraffes are actually closer to bovids (cows) than they are to camels.

That was really cute. Very amusing to see a camel acting like one of my cats with a toy mouse.

I believe they mature at basically the same rate as a horse, but I don't think she's riding it yet, just sitting on it sometimes. Because she specified that she sat on him when hey was cushing, I thought it was a gentling and socializing thing, not a riding thing.
And sexyrobot, it's not the size, it's the unformed joints. You can't drop a baby on the soft spot, even if it is much much bigger than the average baby.
