Video excerpts of the panel discussions from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' recent Milt Kahl tribute.

One of Disney's famous Nine Old Men, Kahl was renown for his incredible skill in all things related to animation, particularly draftsmanship.

If you'd like to learn more about the early Disney Studios (as well as animation in general), I would highly recommend picking up The Illusion of Life by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas.

You might also enjoy these tapes of Kahl's lectures at CalArts in 1976 (courtesy The Animation Podcast). One of the kids in the audience is a young Brad Bird who incidentally recounts the lessons he got from Kahl when he was unofficially interning as a 14 year old at Disney (courtesy of Pixar's Spline Doctors)
