No offense intended, but I personally think this kind of SLYT, without much value beyond distraction, is better posted to digg or reddit, not metafilter.

I must admit I've always been more a fan of Old School SNL, but I saw this over the weekend for the first time, and it touched a funny bone. Not to mention that Terminator figured prominently in my childhood. Okay. Terminator and Jesus figured prominently in my childhood, both of which have followed me into adulthood.

I fucking hate MadTV and just about anything that's ever come out of that show. Except Kenny Rogers' Jackass, I love that shit.

I don't know about tired cliche, but MAN did they spread the funny out pretty thin. Does it really need to take a full minute from "December 25th 0000" to "Arnold" standing up? Telegraph, people!

I hate Mad TV. Except for Honeydipper Dan. I guess because as a kid I watched a show that was just like it.

The funniest part is how much they make it like the real Terminator movies, and then he comes out with that Kermit the Frog voice.

This completely inane, unfunny skit acquired epic new meaning for me after I listened to Artie Lange's "Too Fat to Fish." Get the audiobook if you can find it - it adds a new layer of sadness and tragedy to the whole thing.
Artie was completely coked out of his brain, suffering from nearly constant suicidal thoughts and the makers of Mad TV stick him in a giant pig suit and roast him over a fire. I won't spoil the ending of that part of the book but it's incredibly sad.
What a horrible, stupid show that was.
