I'm against MS's business practices as much as any lefty netizen, but this is just stupid. Do you really believe there's an OS out there that can run even the most crappily written app without crashing?
Sure we all love public embarrassment, but its funny in that "Its funny cause its true!" way that epitomizes 80's stand-up comedy like "White guys drive like this..."
I can't even see this approaching schadenfreude, as the PC you're on right now has probably had its fair share of crashes regardless of platform/OS/Apps.
Okay, I'll admit the big blue screen of death on alt.tv's screen is cute, but error messages on random pieces of machinery is groupthink MS bashing. posted by skallas at 9:50 PM on June 13, 2001

If a non-privileged app can crash an OS, then the OS has a problem. If many commonly used non-privileged apps can and frequently do crash an OS, then the OS is a piece of crap. My linux box crashes when I do something stupid as root, pull the power cord out my computer, or cause it to thrash because I don't have enough physical memory. I have no idea when or why my windows box will decide to crash. posted by rdr at 11:04 PM on June 13, 2001
