Wow, the Obama in the Hall of Presidents looks nothing like him. Neither does the Chia Obama.

I was really hoping for the first 166. Great job, "old media."

I hope I never get tired of Obama porn. If I do, I will be tired of life.

Big Picture links are almost in-house or self-links for MetaFilter, at least in some way, are they not?

Sorta like Denzel Washington playing Obama, I think. Way to plan ahead, Disney!

Awwww, so charming.

Now let's see a public option.

He's got really, really nice handwriting. Somehow that makes me like him more.

more enthusiasm then, though

Pretty cool. A few observations:

1. The shot of the edited commencement speech (#27) is a neat look behind the scenes. Obama gives good markup.

2. The note to the teacher (#34) is just plain awesome. What a thrill for that kid.

3. The animatronic Obama (#38) looks a lot like Governor Patterson.

And as with any list of "bad" things, several are only bad if by 'bad' you mean 'awesome'.

#35 Coolest. President. Ever.

It's not in this set, but I like this photo of him and Michelle watching fireworks on the 4th of July. "not a bad shot.. but how do we really know that it's not will smith?"
The caption says, "President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama," which still sounds new and cool to me.

#30. Very sweet. :)

I thought Kerry lost, but he's standing right behind Obama.

this dog is so FUCKING PUMPED!

also, do these awesome pictures mean it's okay that he's still continuing Bush policies of covering up torture and domestic surveillance?

Um... does anyone know the story behind President Taco-head giving underwear to Rainbow Mexicans? Is it a Rob Liefeld comic?

At center-right is the hieroglyphic that the President commented on, saying it looked like him

Is it just me or is his hair a lot more gray than it was last year?

It's not just you. Rags have been writing about it for a while now.

I dug 17.

I'm glad they admitted the number 167 was arbitrary. Otherwise, I would have had to consult my dusty old presidential numerology book and be disappointed that it didn't involve William Henry Harrison.

I think we should just show the two pics of Obama running with Bo, and Bo going dogtongue nutso at our captives 24-7 until they all just go "awwwwwwwwww" and quit plotting absurd, bloody scenarios. I myself would last less than 15 seconds if subjected to such "enhanced techniques."

The Paris photo #17 is just awesome. First, he's in France, America's oldest ally, repairing some embarassing damage to our relationship that his predecessor caused. And he's kicking back outside in his suit, no tie, just sitting on the steps. Casually enough that the pants have ridden up over the sock on one side. He's chatting with a dude in tailored blue jeans and flip flops, next to another dude in American khakis and sneakers who's also relaxed. There's another suit there, standing slightly uncomfortable, I'm guessing he's the respectfully dressed French attaché. And the whole scene is so perfectly arranged it looks like a Calvin Klein ad, but it's not because the clothes aren't particularly designer and it's a candid of our freaking president. President of awesome.

Indeed. He is just the coolest. So refreshing.

One night I dreamed a dream.
I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

"Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and all that, but I get tired of you listening to your whining ass, so I went off and looked at pictures of Obama to make myself feel better."

My vote is Fred Armisen.

Actually, it's probably just that they all have the same Westworld facial structure underneath the latex.

Really? We need to fucking plan this far ahead?

Oh, lordy, Reagan's 100th birthday is next year and I haven't bought a present yet whatever shall we do

Alright, who thinks they can hack boston.com and alter all of the captions so they say something like "President Obama meets with X, Y, and Z, ... while simultaneously disappointing Joe Beese"?

Jesus, what a load of bullshit.

Lyndon Johnson's 100th is this year, August 27th. Do we have an eleven member committee planning the HUGE celebration for this? Probably not. No doubt because he wasn't the saviour of the goddamn human race like Reagan was.

Just shows that you really just need someone to care about something for it to happen, not a good justification. Who cares about LBJ nowadays?

Okay. Nobody's gushed over the President and first daughters at the Dairy Godmother in Alexandria, VA. It's #25.

What a freakin' awesome place to take your kids. Just the kind of place where Proprietor and Dairy Godmother in residence would make POTUS stand in line just like everybody else.

Yes, between #30 and that photo, jscott, man. Great things.

And yes it's a long road to undoing all of the damage the past administration has done, but god damnit, he's doing some good too, you know?
