I love them, but what was the point in 'reconstructing' the last two?

Apparently the past was a sunnier time.

I think the last two videos were the set-up to old poses, possibly more interesting to the family who might have seen those photos around the house for the last 30 years.

As I viewed the movie showing the Florida hotel, I was struck by the fact that no one lays out in the sun anymore - what a striking difference there was between the crowded lounges in 1974 and the empty ones in 2004.

Very, very cool project!

Wow, very cool. The full movie is here. The kid (Benjamin?) appears only in the old footage. I hope there is a benign reason...

I've always wanted to do this. So great.
One (grown) kid appears in the first kid-related one, which had two kids in the original super-8.
I'm really hoping nothing bad happened to the second kid. The "Dad Portrait Reconstruction" is especially poignant if that's the case.

Ah, on preview the kid that appears is his older brother, Benjamin? I guess it's a case of "camera-shy director" that he doesn't appear in the reconstructions, opting instead for his space-suit-wearing mother to hold a picture of him.

Here's what I felt:

-That we can all lead lives worth living.

-That (hopefully) we have done things worth doing.

-That there is hope. That at the end of the day it doesn't really matter because life goes on.

-That lives will be lived, and that there is more!

-That dziga/artist has very cool parents. That you all laughed a lot.

-That moments can be forgotten but their will remain intact forevermore.

-And that the things worth the most are intangible.

I was moved to breathlessness. Congratulations on the success of your work. Good art.
