Do you like Daft Punk? Do you like 8 Bit tribute albums? Then you'll probably dig Da Chip, a Daft Punk tribute album.

Quasi-related: Daft Punk has also been tapped to make 24 original tracks for the upcoming Tron sequel. Here's a preview from a Comic-Con event.

I don't know... I think of Daft Punk's music as barely above 16-bit...

This was randomly mentioned in the comments of another FPP. I've been enjoying it ever since!

Nice title.

Man, I could barely recognize "Around The World", but it was still great!

This is my new favorite thing. Thank you.

Now, let me go send it to all my friends (I sent it automatically to my boyfriend -- barely even clicked the link before copying and pasting).

So this is what the kids are listening to these days.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Yay, finally new Daft Punk music. One thing to thank Disney for...

If these 8-bit covers are your thing, then keep your eyes on the 8bitcollective Collaborations and Releases forums.

If you like Daft Punk, you might be interested in learning more about their samples.

If you like chiptunes, you're probably looking forward to Kind of Bloop.

I like nullsleep. And Commie 64.

Also if you like 8-bit mashups and remixes someone did one of Axel F that's actually interesting. There's one remix on the comp that's like some kind of crazy fucked up opiod space lounge music.

Weird comment thread on that blog. Obviously it's fake, but it also seems like it might be staged by the blog author. I have no problem with this, but it's definitely odd.

Anyway, as much as I dig the whole lsdj sound, it took me awhile to warm up to these tracks, but they're pretty solid once you give them awhile. Just forget about what the originals sound like and try to appreciate them as unique songs.

Alright, I am officially impressed. Make sure you check out Digital Love. It totally sold me.

Daft Punk. 8-bit sound. Life is good.

It seems loquacious is referring to the "Ten and Tracer - The Heat is On" version from this Axel F comp.

And here is a buttload more 8-bit albums. Bonus, NSFPepileptics.

Yup. Fantastic. I heard of this via Metafilter's Own rstevens on twitter a few weeks back, but I never got around to posting it. Glad it made its way up here.
