I love this. The explosion of talent and sheer modernity in 60s and 70s reggae amazes me. It is a great pity that Bob Marley's greatest hits blaring across college campuses is the only time most people get to hear this wonderful music. posted by Fiery Jack at 9:18 PM on July 31

I know me a DJ, on the Youu-na-verse-iii-tea rahhhdio, an' him-an-him got him a basket fulla seven inchas, mon. Atta yardsale, mon, I be not lying ta ya and yers. These records be old, old Ska from the DJ wars, and had them labels all ripped up and painted over, mon, so tha odder DJs know not what our man who own this basket back then an' then be playin' even if they be jackin' our man up for he basket, an' they be. Too much fightin' on the dance floor. posted by Slap*Happy at 9:43 PM on July 31

Thank you so very much for this link. Photos of records + reggae mp3s? Exactly what I needed for a long weekend. posted by threetoed at 8:54 AM on August 1
Why do the zip files contain two of each mp3? They're different size files, but I can't discern any difference between them. Am I just clueless? posted by roll truck roll at 10:17 AM on August 1
This is great! Reggae is something that I only ever periodically dip into but it was definitely time I splashed in again. posted by Kattullus at 9:20 PM on August 1
I left this open in a tab and ignored it, because it seems like whenever people do something like this, they always wind up doing mutt-rips, or terrible quality mp3s, but…but…are these all custom ripped 320k's?
