Although it's an interesting concept, I lost interest in "dumb phones" awhile ago. They're all basically the same, and that irks me.

Its bio-plastic material, made from corn, makes up 40 percent of the Reclaim’s outer casing.

I hope that is not the same "bio-plastic made from corn" material they make those drinking straws out of at the cafeteria next door. Those things crack if you look at them wrong.

What will the folks at Sprint and Samsung think of next? Yet another reason to visit Metafilter every day.

USA Today article.

The only new thing about this story is that they're now being sold by Sprint in the US. Samsung's Eco line was unveiled last year at the OR@S (Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung) event in Beijing.

It sure is green, though. The only thing lacking is a green-on-black monochrome display.

Do they contain Coltan?

Though it might be a tad overpackaged.
