That moose video is crazy! It's especially funny/bizarre when it walks by the racks of various sorts hanging on the walls in the house. (Moose, hunting rifles, etc.) posted by nosila at 8:42 AM on August 11

The moose video.
The moose video.
The moose vid-I..I can't effectively express my emotions and reactions per The Moose Video - except that I am both entranced and terrified. posted by The Whelk at 8:51 AM on August 11
"I love lambs. Not the way they do: with peas and carrots."
By the way, I find it really amusing that the moose video has the music from that hilarious looped Japanese flash video, which I unfortunately can't remember the name of right now or I'd link it. posted by nosila at 9:06 AM on August 11
Vote that moose Governor of Alaska, make a movie based on its story and we can usher in a new golden era of live-action film at Disney. posted by mazola at 9:07 AM on August 11
On the plus side, instead of feeling vaguely angry at the world and cranky, I'm giggling at kittens and hamsters. It's a sleepy kitten, people. This is brilliant. posted by kalimac at 9:10 AM on August 11

I love the lynx. There is this kitten kneading a blanket and one half of me is thinking "aww, cute" and the other half is thinking "look at the size of its bloody claws!" posted by MuffinMan at 9:15 AM on August 11

The content of the linked page changes, but I saw some farmers inducing epileptic seizures in their goats. I'm not exactly a PETA member, but I didn't find that to be cute. Horrifying, yes. Cute, no.
Otherwise, cute is good, thanks for a reliable supply. posted by not_that_epiphanius at 10:08 AM on August 11
CuteCrittersFilter: be advised that if you can't get the page, or when you refresh the page, you get a whole 'nother set of vids. So when I went, I saw NO MOOSE video, just all annoying, ubiquitous cat stuff. [Insert snark here] Errrghhh! posted by Seekerofsplendor at 10:21 AM on August 11
Apart from the obvious awesome that is an indoor moose, my favorite thing about videos like that is the gangly playfulness of a young animal that big. Where it is still trying to figure out how those leg-things work and its easiest form of rapid locomotion is that crazy sideways-butt-kicking-out run.
You have to wonder though, if they are fans of Invader Zim and if they ever bring friends over and threaten to send them to A Room With A Moose! (Ideally, the moose would be chowing down on walnuts). Because, really, how often would you have the opportunity to experience that in real life? posted by quin at 10:23 AM on August 11
I had not heard that Wolfdog remix. FREAKING AWESOME.

How did this person discover that her hamsters could swim? How many hamsters did she throw in the pool before he found two who could swim? Her maniacal cackling does not improve my opinion of her as an owner.
At one point, one of the desperate hamsters climbs on top of the other for air. Past that point, the half drowned hamster can no longer do more than keep it's head above water, weighed down by its thoroughly soaked fur. She laughs as it thrashes desperately for air.
Hamsters live in constant fear anyhow. Cranking that fear up to eleventeen is pretty awful.
Letting a baby moose into your house is not nearly as unwise as letting a baby hippo into your house, but still, you want to knock that shit off before they develop their adult urges to, well, kill you.

There was recently, actually, a family in South Africa that had a pet hippo.
Eventually it got too big for the house so they had to reinforce the door with steel. Then it met a mate and returned to the wild (up around the Limpopo River).
There must be a clip on YouTube...bingo: Jessica the Hippo
This story has a sad ending, but let's just leave it at that for now. posted by Flashman at 4:18 PM on August 11
