I have no idea why I watched that first thing in the morning, or what sort of tone it is going to set for the day...
I think I'm mostly just jealous that he pulls off the Loli look better than I could. posted by JoanArkham at 5:44 AM on August 15
If you look at his profile information he describes himself as: "H.J.Freaks means a project for making music, performance, and multimedia producing which lead by South Korean bassist whose name is Hyunmo Kim who "hopes to be the world's greatest stupid idiot bass player"."
The profile also links to his blog, which is written in a mixture of Japanese and Korean, where he calls himself a "perverted middle-aged otaku." You can also check out his collection of guitars and basses.
I hate this video for the infinitesimal chance that a hot Japanese girl dressed up in the same outfit, got the bass and camera ready, searched YouTube one last time, found this video and went "Meh, it's been done" before packing away the camera, dress, and bass.
*shakes fist*

I spent the whole time I watched the video (which is about half of it) wondering how he kept those pigtails attached to his fairly short hairstyle.
Oh, and why he's on the bed in a black leotard...watching himself play? And kind of smooshing his own body parts? posted by xingcat at 5:59 AM on August 15
The hypnotic awfulness of that fucking J(K?)-pop was such that I barely registered I'd been staring at a man's nylon-pinched thighs for several minutes. I didn't think he could possibly redeem this horror, until he bust out some Priest. posted by Kandarp Von Bontee at 6:04 AM on August 15

got to :53. Not enough bleach in the house. Must dig eyes out with spoon now.
So, when he was on the bed in the black leotard, was he giving himself a monthly breast exam? Does that make this some kind of public service announcement? If so, more PSAs should include German beer maiden outfits. Hot. posted by philotes at 6:27 AM on August 15
so this is some kind of test right? to see how far you get into the video before realizing... why am i watching this? i made to the second cutaway of him in the black outfit. posted by fuzzypantalones at 6:27 AM on August 15
Just because something exists does not mean I have to know about it.
Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" is on cable right now, so I'm really experiencing the full range of, you know, culture and stuff. posted by gimonca at 7:01 AM on August 15

Woa, look at that guy! If we rounded up a few more like this, we could totally started a new meme about how Japanese people are crazy wand have an unfathomable culture. That would be pretty neat. posted by Sova at 8:39 AM on August 15

Meh.. he's nothing special covering the metal tunes. All flash and no substance. He plays the Maiden tunes wrong and plays Priest as a slap bass line which it isn't. I wonder if he can finger the 32nd notes in the chorus of PainKiller? Doubtful. posted by jtoth at 8:59 AM on August 15 [1 favorite has favorites]
I'll give him credit for dressing to the music. No frilly skirts when he's playing Painkiller and no wolf-moon teeshirts during the anime stuff. posted by ardgedee at 9:00 AM on August 15

Korean. He's Korean. We've discussed this. It's further up the thread. Read it, the tailor your snark to the facts. That way, you don't look like such a douche. posted by benzo8 at 9:27 AM on August 15

I thought it was a commercial for a cruise ship, actually. Not for everyone.

He's a milk lightweight, that's for sure.

I can understand why the people who hated it might hate it, but not why anyone who hated it would watch for more than 20 or 30 seconds, it's not like it's unclear what you're dealing with right off the bat. All I can say is, dude looks very content doing his thing. posted by nanojath at 12:34 PM on August 15 [1 favorite has favorites]
Thank you. This was awesomely awesome.
For weeks, my on line experience has been dominated by crazy ass American idiots screaming their ill-informed opinions about ObamaCare. I was beginning to believe that the only thing to come out of the free access and anonymity provided by the internet is a sad race to the bottom, furthering the fear and isolation present in society.
That was quite unusual. posted by tellurian at 1:13 PM on August 15

He would he be an awesome one man wedding band. After the rituals are done and people have finished dinner, a small space is cleared on front of the hall. This guy enters in a white silk dress, with a knowing smile, knowing that he is outshining all of the bridal maids. Starts slapping overfast anime tunes. People rejoice and dance. Milk is served and there is a cruise in the end. Everybody loves the otaku. posted by Free word order! at 3:29 PM on August 15
