The pepperoni layout is so symmetrical, a real pizza is never like that. Figures the flashy video stuff would be stylized and perfect and unobtainable. This is the way the the patriarchy keeps real pizzas insecure and vulnerable, comparing themselves to impossible topping symmetry.

That is terrible.

What in god's name are you talking about? It's a pizza spinning on top of a black garbage bag for four minutes. On what planet is that terrible? Stupid planet, that's where.

Interview with the creators.
(I'm having trouble resisting the urge to put quotes around "creators.")

idiopath, it's apparently a real pizza. A real Red Baron pizza.

I'm concerned that it's there spinning around for three minutes and no one is interested in grabbing a slice of piping hot Red Baron.

Maybe this was filmed on Stupid Planet.

Did you eat that pizza after you filmed it?

We tried. It was a little rubbery after sitting on a turntable for an hour and a half, and didn't taste too great. So, we stuffed it down the garbage disposal with a taxidermy deer leg

For those of you who chose to read the comments first, this video is like Zombo.com without a voiceover. Also, you can't do everything with this video.

If that is a "real" pizza, than it has been primped and beautified. I am sure they had an aesthetic technician to rearrange the pepperoni to a pleasing pattern. They sure don't come out of the cardboard looking like that. And every humble pizza at home is going to hold themselves to that standard, not even knowing that all they would need is an aesthetic technician and some fancy video tricks to look that beautiful.

If I had seen that at about 3:30 last night, my world probably would have exploded in a frenzy of delight.

Sunday morning is not the optimal time for spinning pizzas, though I still enjoy it. It should be longer though.

We should run this on TV on a loop during national holidays, just as a gift to the nation's hard-working suburban pot dealers.

You should have. That pizza looks awful, especially the crust.

It should be longer though.

It's only a trailer. The real video comes in at a whopping full hour of spinning video pizza montage.
posted by scrutiny at 9:50 AM on August 16, 2009

Yeah...I'm saying longer than an hour. And auto-restarting the DVD just isn't the same. I need new angles. Rrrrroll that beautiful bean footage!

um, I need to stop posting in this thread I think.

My band played a show in January with video pizza on one of the visualization screens, and we served free hot dogs to the audience. More people were crowded around video pizza than either the hot dog table or the stage.

I think this would have been more effective with a slice of pizza removed.

But I don't know why.

The pizza, or the video?

we covered it with a shiny gold cloth to conceal it. The lighting in the video makes it look more like a plastic garbage bag

There is no way that they are not lying about this.
