Tracy Kidder’s new book 'Strength in What Remains' receives rave reviews from Ron Suskind at the NYT Sunday Book Review. An Excerpt from Chapter 1. The website of Deogratias' Village Health Works. A short blog post about Deo's younger brother, Asvelt, which also includes a video of wonderful Burundian drumming

Thanks, that's a powerful story and it looks to be an excellent book.

I heard an interview with Kidder on the radio the other day - it sounds like a fascinating book about a subject so painful that I'm kind of afraid to read it.

Mountains Beyond Mountains is one of my favorite books, so I'm really looking forward to reading this one.

Love the Burundi clip. I saw a troupe from Burundi doing this live, at a percussion festival in Amsterdam a couple decades ago. It was killing. What a sound, and what a spectacle!

I am SO excited to read this! I second the Mountains Beyond Mountains shout-out - not only is it about one of my personal heroes, but the writing is terrific.
