People of Wal-Mart

"It’s not everywhere that you can shop for milk at 10 a.m. next to a 400lb mother of 6 wearing a pink tube top, leopard tights, and hooker heels. Where else can one go to pick up underwear at 3 O’clock in the afternoon and spot the greatest mullet of all time paired with a mustard stained wife beater (which only accents the extreme amount of body hair) and camo pants that were actually used in Vietnam."

Look at me! I'm better than other people!

Seems like a pretty mean-spirited glimpse at people's poor life choices.

Something about this blog seems a touch snotty to me. No, these people aren't in shape, and they're dressed poorly. But then you throw Wal-Mart into the mix, and it also becomes a crack about people who can't afford better. Not that everyone who shops at Wal-Mart is broke, but that's totally the vibe I get from this blog. "Haha. Look at the poor, fat people."

I have not shopped at Walmart in years, partially because there aren't any nearby and partially because I dislike the company.

But I went to college in a town where Walmart was basically the only place to shop. Yeah, there were a couple of other grocery stores and smaller specialty stores, but if you needed anything else, Walmart is where you went. (And yes, it was the best place for post-drinking snacks.)

So not everyone who shops at Walmart -- even small town ones -- is poor or unclean or whatever. Sometimes people shop there because that's all there is. I agree with the others who say this seems mean. Because it is.

I bet the guy with the handmade flying horse and his youtube channel owns.

Whoever maintains the site is classist filth though.

See this guy's other blog: "CompetitiveBarrelFishing.com"

Woah, woah, woah: are you telling me that the poor and unkempt shop at the cheapest store in America. Hold on, I have to go get my face that you just ripped off.

My local Wal-Mart is full of grad students and post-docs. I shop at Wal-Mart. I suspect many other MeFites do. That website ought to be thrown from its own high horse.

This is kinda low-hanging fruit. 'Contemptuous Bourgeois New Money People at Hamptons Yard Sales ' would be a real effort that I'd permalink.

You know I have ugly thoughts cross my mind from time to time, but making a website out of it would take the cake I think.

Yeah, it calls people 'creatures' in the titlebar. Great site there.

'And the most fearsome of all... the guy who goes to Wal-Mart to surreptitiously photograph other human beings so that his meager blog will have CONTENTTM!

rickytic3: the walmart pic was a good thing I think? and they were big sandwiches eaten in two seperate meals. they hit the spot.

Other YouTube commenter: if you end up on peopleofwamart it is NEVER a good thing. In fact it means you should seriously reevaluate your life

rickytic3: yeah I agreeeeee people who eat sandwiches and advertise there videos are damned!!!!!!!!!

From the About Page: This is purely for entertainment purposes and strictly limited to the outrageously bad / ugly / creepy / crazy shoppers... There is no reason to send us pictures of people that are seriously and unfortunately handicapped so don’t be an asshole. We are trying to have some fun here and there is a difference between someone who is mentally challenged and a person who has a fu Manchu and is still rocking MC Hammer pants.

'Thanks to Wal-Mart's low, low prices, I can have my cake and eat it too!'
