The Dullest Blog in the world.
posted by blue_beetle (25 comments total)

This post was deleted for the following reason: There's this thing where if something's a double but it's been years and years and it's built up a lot of content sometimes we'll just let it stay anyway, and this blog manages to somehow subvert that principle by having a lot more content than it did six years ago without actually having any more content. -- cortex

Meh. At least the entries are succinct and don't ramble. I've read worse writing.

More interesting the first time round.

Oh man, I know a guy in RL who talks like this--and he had a livejournal peppered with similar, non-ironic entries (usually, strangely, about food) awhile ago. Here's a couple:

Chicken Selects

I had the Chicken Selects from McDonalds today. they are quite good and a multitude of steps better than the regular chicken mcNugget.

and

Mixing Coffee

How does everyone prepare their coffee? Do you add the coffee first, then milk and sugar? Or do you put the milk and sugar in first then the coffee? I think at dunkin donuts they put the coffee in last. At starbucks they just give you the coffee and you doctor it up yourself. Personally, I put the milk and sugar in first if I do not have something to stir with.

and

Hotel apples

Hotel apples are usually smaller than the ones you can get in the grocery. They are almost always red delicious. I dunno, but the hotel ones are usually either bitter or just not ripe enough.

I never thought of it as dull so much as hilarious, though.

This made me remember Dull Men's Club. I think it's heartening to see that they're still at it and that new dull sites are sprouting left and right. Heaven is a place where nothing really happens and all that!

Actually this seems to be a triple. This feels strangely appropriate to the theme of repetitive monotony.

On the good side these blog posts are consistent and on message.
I just fed my dogs. They were excited to see me. They did not f.k up my s.t as they sometimes do. So I gave them each a Mllk Bone and posted on MeFi.

The best way to mix your coffee is:
  1. fill about 3/8 of the drinking container with coffee (3/8 is just over a third, or exactly in between a quarter and a half).
  2. add sugar
  3. swirl until sugar is thoroughly dissolved, add a touch more coffee if needed
  4. add cream and the rest of the coffee
With this method
  • you don't need a stir stick or spoon
  • the sugar is mixed much more evenly in the coffee, and you will never be left with undissolved sugar caked on the bottom of the cup and or a syrupy last sip

Note the dates of postings in his archive....
seems to need lots of breaks to refresh his ideas.

Forget Twitter, how is this different than most all blogs? I guess it is shorter, but as they say, the difference between satire and sincerity is length.

Definitely works as advertised. Can we have the dullest deleting in the world? It would be fitting. I have to make rice to go with dinner.

I didn't see any reference to hipsters. Are we sure this is as dull as it can be?

Interesting. I've found that buckets are the best way of putting them back.

idiopath, that is really interesting and useful information -- thank you.

But just one thing: why did you post it in this thread?
