Hey, why don't they take the dogs that mauled that kid and sic them on the guy who threw the dog into traffic? And whatever is left of him can be drowned by that chick in Houston.

This is a depressing news day.

There are an incredible number of Monopoly clones now available. You can find National Parks monopoly, for example, or Toronto Monopoly. Does anybody buy these specialty monopolies and play them? Besides me that is? (My wife and I are proud owners of Animalopoly.)

Let's see: gathering dust in my closet are unopened boxes of Golf-opoly, Syracuse-opoly and Colorado-opoly (graduation gifts to me and my wife). I have played San Francisco-opoly, but I'm bored with this gimmick.

By the way, I think the St. James-Tennessee-New York monopoly is the best to have. Reasonable purchase and developing rates and good rents, not to mention a location that seems to get above-average traffic.

Probably because people end up going to jail.

There we are. Full circle.

No wonder I get my ass kicked in Monopoly. There is strategy involved! Thank god life isn't like that!

I just got "Simpsons Monopoly" for my birthday.
I'm looking forward to trying to own all 4 monorail stations.

Something I did notice:
The GO, Jail, Free Parking and Go To Jail squares are EXACTLY the same as the original game. Instead of (obviously) using Chief Wiggum for the Go To Jail spot, it's the same picture of the cop blowing a whistle. Is this common to all -opoly conversions? Is it part of the registered trademark of Monopoly, and therefore must not be changed?

Holy crap, I had no idea they had a championship, and you could actually compete! Oh, I totally wish I knew this when I was 11.

It's about time the Monopoly monopoly was broken up.

Many people still think of Monopoly as an archetypal board game. They don't realise that things have moved on since then. For some reason, the Germans produce the best games out there. Try Settlers of Catan, Tigris & Euphrates, Princes of Florence or El Grande, and I guarantee you'll never want to play rubbish like Monopoly or Risk again.

No, no, no. Indiana is the most commonly landed upon square so the Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky monopoly is the way to go (I have a soft spot for dark greens though).

And Sal, do not take the name of Risk in vane ;)

I can't believe it! SOMEONE ELSE has played Toronto Monopoly!

Actually, wasn't it Canada Monopoly?

Meh. Toronto. Canada. Same thing.

SOMEONE ELSE has played Toronto Monopoly!

Not only that, but it has been used as a gift for my uncle who is a lawyer in Toronto.
