Stories of Ambien Use and Abuse This drug can be evil with the wrong takers. I have had some scary - no terrifying - phone calls with a friend on it. WTF is with this drug. Doctors please be careful when you prescribe.

I would like more details about the phone calls! Full transcripts, if possible! You have piqued my interest, celerystick!

Is it just me or have there been a rash of GYOFB-type posts in the past couple of days?

P.S. Posting with the help of Ambien

I've been taking Ambien to help me deal with my insomnia relating to the fact that I'VE BEEN SILENCED ALL MY LIFE.

No, seriously...

There's been an ongoing debate in the scientific community about cognitive enhancement drugs. As far as I can tell, this and Ritalin are the big ones. People are under a lot of stress, they have trouble sleeping at night, and Ambien is a straightforward solution. Then Ritalin + coffee in the morning to perk yourself backup. Great for when that big grant proposal is due....

I love Ambien but I'm not so keen on the editorializing in this post.

It kind of looks like there's someone using that site to post a suicide note before purposely overdosing on Ambien.

Don't let the women from Slate see this. It'll just give them ideas.

While I think it's one more drug that doctors tend to thoughtlessly hurl at patients who should otherwise be managing their own lives better, this post is kind of not good.

SL-LOLAmbien? Either way, kinda thin. Concur with the GYOB assessment.

There is probably a good post to be made about Ambien and its abuse, but this isn't it.

So people are videotaping themselves freaking out on Ambien now? And posting it to YouTube? Fascinating.

I never expected to load up metafilter and find a paniced and confused note from my mom on it.

It's OK, I use blog sites to make all sorts of impassioned pleas to medical professionals as well.
