Students of culture, please note the emergence of yoga kitsch as a new species of van art in the 21st century. posted by Faze at 8:57 AM on October 2, 2009 [1 favorite]
I'm sorry, but yoga or no, that is cool. Because it's also hundreds of people gathered together to sit, be peaceful and enjoy the day. It's really hard to motivate people to do that sort of thing. Especially quietly and without a greater cause. I can't even get myself to do that most mornings. posted by iamkimiam at 9:05 AM on October 2, 2009
I think yoga is pretty cool. I think panoramic photos are pretty cool. I think the combination can also be cool. But I'm not that excited about a field of raised, inverted asses. posted by DU at 9:09 AM on October 2, 2009

They're dressed in brahmacharya yellow with a genuine, orange-robed, Indian swami supervising, so I wouldn't say their yoga itself is kitschy. How how are you defining "kitsch"?" in the totalitarian sense? or do you just mean "camp"? Do you mean the artwork of the photographs, the subjects themselves, or both? Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party? I guess that's what I'm tryin to figger out here. posted by eegphalanges at 12:37 PM on October 3, 2009
