This is a funny comic too. Don't bother if you are easily offended though.

That bear is just plain wrong.

On another, less comic-related note, the whole Atlantis/The Secret of Blue Water thing is a pointless debate.

At first I was shocked too then I thought about it...

How many hundred of times have Western studios remade foreign films? Look at the horrible Western remake of the French classic La Femme Nikita.

It happens all the time, why is it only a crime when Disney does it to a cartoon?

Thoughts?

"Western remake"? Is France not Western?

Well, France is east of the United States.

Anyway, the difference between this situation and, say, The Birdcage, is one of credit (and, presumably, cash) being given to the original creators.

Now, as for that bear: Eh.

France is also west of the United States.

"Western remake"? Is France not Western?

France was bought by Sony in 1989. You didn't know?

Great cartoon. Thanks man.

This kind of shows how self-centered we Americans get doesn't it? As if we define THE Western World... shoot me please...

Yeah man! It's like, like EAST FRANCE doesn't even matter!

heh...i'm sitting here trying to think of a "Western remake of La Femme". Was that with Clint Eastwood, or John Wayne as the beautiful but deadly assassin?

Thar's a new sheriff in town, and her name's Nikeeta!

This one seems appropriate to some of the discussions we've had recently. I love this comic! At first I thought it was just a Red Meat rip-off, but it's got its own style, I think. Some similarities, but hey, there's room for more than one psychopathic comic strip in this world, right?

I think Point Of No Return was the "Western" remake of La Femme Nikita. Right?

Oh! I thought we were talking about That Nikita Girl!

Sin: yes, Point of No Return with Bridget Fonda. It wasn't nearly as good. As I imagine Atlantis probably isn't nearly as good as The Secret of Blue Water...

And by Western, yes, I meant American but I'm allowed to say shit like that, I'm English. The last thing anyone can accuse me of is being Amero-centric.

Sorry if this sounds like I am whining, but if there are pop-ups in your link could you please note it? Thanks.

(Tigger, if you wanted to post a response to the Atlantis thing, the appropriate place is in the Atlantis thread. People using the "recent comments" feature will note there are follow-ups and will be able to read it. They'll never find it here. And you hijacked your own thread.)

Pooh. England is just East America.

England is just East America.

Or West America. Either way.

[Warning: Repurposed Post Ahead] If you're jonesing for a good collegiate-type strip, or at least a good strip nobody's ever heard of, look no further than Ozy and Millie. (Play around in the archives; the story arc of the last few days is a bit subpar for this guy.) Disclaimer: I have a thing for redheads who think like this.
