I thought they were content to just sit at home and watch Matlock?! "Community officials in Sun City West, Arizona, have reported that over a dozen senior couples have been caught having sex in public in recent weeks. Sexual incidents of heterosexual and homosexual couples engaged in amorous affairs in parking lots, park benches, and swimming pools." posted by Brilliantcrank (25 comments total)
Good for them. What's the problem here? Is this unnatural? posted by norm at 5:23 PM on June 25, 2001
Well, you'd think people who had lived that long would have learned some decorum somewhere along the way. posted by kindall at 5:34 PM on June 25, 2001
Decorum is highly overrated. posted by norm at 5:51 PM on June 25, 2001
ick... hope none of those acts end up on the internet under the voyeur sections... um... not that i'd be in any danger of seeing any of them. posted by lotsofno at 6:03 PM on June 25, 2001
When you've lived that long, you don't have to care what Mom and Dad think anymore. Isn't decorum just your internal Mom and Dad?
Anyway, it's summer. "Matlock" is in reruns. posted by rodii at 6:04 PM on June 25, 2001

or they've learnt that having fun is more important than what other people might think? posted by titboy at 6:21 PM on June 25, 2001
ick
You've got a really childish view of sex, not to mention an obvious disrespect for older people. I am disgusted. posted by norm at 6:51 PM on June 25, 2001
I'm disgusted too, but from thinking about my "internal mom and dad." posted by machaus at 6:55 PM on June 25, 2001

I'd certainly hope most people would learn better before they retire. posted by kindall at 7:51 PM on June 25, 2001
Why should they care what anyone else thinks when they might not be around tomorrow. posted by gyc at 8:09 PM on June 25, 2001

Imagine our generation once we reach 70!
The thing that most worries me about that link, CP, is that I would have a difficult time telling any difference if some of those people were to go senile in their old age... in fact, I think it's possible it has already happened to a few of them. posted by kindall at 10:45 PM on June 25, 2001
I'm all for the older generation enjoying connubial bliss, but I sure as hell wouldn't appreciate soaking in the hot tub where gramps and granny just got their groove on. Yeech. Double dose of chlorine time! posted by Dreama at 4:51 PM on June 26, 2001
AIDS and other STDs are rising fastest amoung the older set because of viagra and other things without the warnings the younder crowd has been getting. Then again HIV can take a while to set it and by then it may not matter anyway.. somthing to seriously consider posted by stbalbach at 5:44 PM on June 26, 2001

Dreama, the next time you get all pious about those horrible mean fat jokes, I'll remember this. Nothing like the getting the ethical superiority with the handy off/on action, huh? posted by rodii at 7:25 PM on June 26, 2001
OK, my ethics committee has pointed out to me that Dreama could have been just talking about the generic yuckiness of being in a hot tub with people who were going at it, as opposed to the specific yuckiness of being in it with old people who were going at it. So: if it was the former, I apologize; if the latter, shame on you. posted by rodii at 7:38 PM on June 26, 2001
