He's a pretty good style chameleon, too. I was surprised at how much the art looked like what was being mocked.

These are good, but it reminds me of the strips Berke Breathed did when he wrapped up the original Bloom County in 1989, and sent the characters off to live in other strips. That was genius stuff, e.g., Oliver Wendel Jones, drawn in the style of Family Circus, gets a new "job" with Family Circus, and tells Opus he was being "bussed in" to the strip as part of a court order. I tried to find the strips online, but couldn't, though I am sure they exist in one or more anthologies. Great stuff.

Those were brilliant.

Milo in The Far Side

Portnoy and Hodge-Podge as janitors scooping up backstage after Marmaduke

Binkley as a Prince Valiant wild boar skinner

MST3K had this idea years ago, I think it was called the cartuner. "Ziggy had Garfield neutered?!? Now that's funny!"

Ryan Dunlavey is a great artist, I got to meet him recently along with his comic book compatriot Fred Van Lente at the NYC Comic Book Club Live Talk Show, its a shame he doesn't get more work, but what he has done so far is fantastic, I highly suggest picking up Action Philosphers
