Looks like they cropped the word "succeed" in MS paint, in all it's jpeggy goodness. I would say "fail" but then I'd have to shoot myself. posted by Taft at 5:45 AM on November 6
Or as Mel Brooks (I think) said ... Comedy is when you walk into an open manhole and die, tragedy is me getting a hangnail.
One's own success is endlessly interesting, other people's success is boring. That is why those xmas family letters are so horrible. I think. posted by R. Mutt at 5:57 AM on November 6
I like this, but after I see the word "SUCCEED" so many times in a row, it starts to look strange. The more I scroll, the more I start to think "that's not spelled right, is it?"
Sorry, the antonym of fail (n) is win. I mean, you can't say that something is "full of succeed." That would just sound silly. posted by Faint of Butt at 6:14 AM on November 6 [2 favorites]
The coffee pot wasn't working this morning, my head is congested, and on three separate occasions I had to sneeze but it went away (which really pisses me off). But this, and especially the Lego pop-up, made it all better. posted by jbickers at 6:53 AM on November 6

Well, it's certainly a positive alternative to all the fail sites out there. And there sure are a LOT of those.
An alternative. Not necessarily funny or entertaining, but an alternative. :) posted by bigbluepig at 6:54 AM on November 6
The opposite of win is "lose". Win implies a contest against someone else; succeed is something that can just stand alone.
Yes, I realise that people on the internet have been using "win" as the opposite of fail, but for this blog "succeed" is a much better choice: it's not about winning, about beating someone, but about succeeding without regard to another.
Win implies a contest against someone else; succeed is something that can just stand alone.
What appears to be epic win over nothing is truly epic win against the universe, or against the mind-harrowing vasty wastes of space itself, or against Satan and all his minions who corrupt and destroy the creatures of God. posted by ROU_Xenophobe at 8:12 AM on November 6 [1 favorite]
I love FailBlog, especially on Fridays. Given that, it has possibly the worst comments on the web. Perhaps even worse than YouTube. posted by smackfu at 8:16 AM on November 6
That beer pong video reminds me of the Animusic PipeDreams videos. Which are just CGI, but the beer pong video gives me hope that something like that might be built for real some day, which would be total win. posted by DevilsAdvocate at 8:18 AM on November 6 [1 favorite]

I'm loving this blog so far (though WIN would be better) - I was just reading failblog before finding this FPP, so I'm starting my day off fully mindful of the razor-thin line beween FAIL and WIN. posted by EatTheWeak at 9:00 AM on November 6
The succeed blog is pretty good. The win blog on the other hand demonstrates that there's a fine line between win and fail. posted by Ickster at 9:03 AM on November 6
Maybe I'm not a true net geek or something, but anytime I see phrases like "MADE OF FAIL" or "FOR THE WIN" I feel an irrational rage rising up inside of me, threatening to consume everything I know and cherish. Is this normal? posted by naju at 10:04 AM on November 6 [1 favorite]
"Google search for "epic succeed", for one example, illustrates that succeed is, in fact, a legitimate synonym for win."
900 some results including this thread? FAIL.
And no, a better theme for the blog would have either been WIN or SUCCESS. The only reason FAIL wins over FAILURE is FAIL is shorter; SUCCESS, while not shorter, is more euphonious. posted by klangklangston at 10:22 AM on November 6
From the second "Fail:" WTFFFF!!! and on clickthrough from that article: WHAT KIND OF MAGAZINE IS THIS??? Looking at the sidebars brings even more WTFs. Is this what moms talk about?

Looking for a better word than SUCCEED (because, hey, it's got SUCK in it), without much *sigh* success. Thesaurus.Dictionary.com gives us (among other even worse alternatives) accomplish, achieve, acquire, appreciate, arrive, avail, bear fruit, beget, benefit, bloom, blossom, bring home the bacon, bring off, bring to pass, carry off, click, come off, carry out, come off, come through, complete, conquer, cop, develop, discharge, do, do all right, do the trick, earn, effect, effectuate, execute, fall into place, fare well, flourish, fulfill, gain, get, get fat, get hands on, get on, get there, get to the top, glom onto, go over, grasp, grow, hit, hit it off, latch onto, make good, make happen, make a hit, make it, make out, make sense, make the grade, meet with approval, outdistance, outwit, overcome, pan out, perform, prevail, profit, prosper, prove out, pull off, rack up, reach, reach the top, realize, reap, score, secure, spurt, surmount, thrive, triumph, turn out, vanquish, win, work...
I might like PREVAILBLOG or SCOREBLOG or THRIVEBLOG or TRIUMPHBLOG (if not for the association with the Insult Comic Dog)... Or maybe the not-listed DOGOOD (or DONEGOOD)... What do you think? posted by oneswellfoop at 12:19 PM on November 6
