NSFW and WTF. Trucker's Delight, an 8-bit animation with music by The Mighty Flairs (myspace, but well designed)

This post was deleted for the following reason: the most important thing about good comedy is timing. And unfortunately, the timing isn't really right for this. -- jessamyn

Really bad animation with really bad music coupled with tasteless humor. For people who like this sort of thing, I imagine it might be the sort of thing they'd like.

You lie, sir. I challenge you to a duel with pistols at dawn.

I could have done without the rape and nonconsensual sexualized humiliation.

One of the beautiful things about the Internet is that there is enough strange, offbeat content in various forms that someone with really esoteric taste doesn't have to put up with that video just because they like good 8-bit animation.

Really bad awesome animation with really bad awesome music coupled with tasteless -eh, actually, I give you that one.

Don't forget all the scatological stuff. This was vile, and though I'm sure its creators would demure that it wasn't meant to be taken at face value, there isn't really any contrary meaning or message to justify such a stance (I couldn't detect any meaning or message at all). Pointless, but I guess I'm supposed to be impressed because it looks like an 0ld sk00l videogame. That's fresh.

OK, that end of the video really did warrant the WTF.

nanojath: "Don't forget all the scatological stuff."

I doubt that movie will help anyone self justify their poop eating, and even if it did, more power to them if it is consensual and all. On the other hand, the remote possibility that a story (even one that goofy) could help someone self-justify rape really pushes my buttons. Every interpersonal sexual act was a forceful act of humiliation, where the trucker established dominance through physical violence. Even with the lack of realism and absurdity of the whole thing, that kind of bugged me.

It just occurred to me that my posts on this thread may get dangerously close to being threadshitting, which given the content at hand, is pretty fucking ironic.

Kind of like kings of power - 4 billion % way lamer and misogynistic.

Not the vilest thing I've ever seen (Go see Pink Flamingos) but definitely pulling from some unusual influences! I think this is pretty awesome.

I was hoping it would be something more like this. (Has NSFW ads.)

I have the strangest feeling that this is a double and that it was deleted the first time around.

Come for the scatology, stay for the pearl clutching.

That was a combination of kinda cool and fucking ridiculous that I don't come across that often.

I thought it was funny, but I fully admit that there's no accounting for taste.

Such as flying a jumbo jet up her ass.

There were a couple funny moments, but I have enough misogynist crap of the sort running around in my head while I try to suppress it, and don't need any more to deal with thank you. This was like woman hating porn without any of the titillation.

I watched that video while A Clockwork Orange played on the TV. I think something broke in my head. There was a snapping noise. It was really loud. My eyes twitched a bit, too. I'm pretty sure...Yea. Something's broke.

A novel way of deflecting attention away from the fact that your music is really, really bad.

I remember when people saved all these neat little cartoon ditties up for a lil' par-tay called 'Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation Festival'. Does that no longer exist or something?

I didn't bother to watch the FPP link, as I was so captivated by CrunchyFrog's link that I didn't need to.

here's five bucks...same as in town

The thing I always wonder with flash animations like crunchy frog's link is what if it didn't loop, but they just repeated an earlier element to make those who aren't truly hardcore completion OCD types miss out on the real ending?
posted by BrotherCaine at 12:50 AM on November 18, 2009

That's:

A) not 8-bit; it's more 16-bit. Too high resolution, too many colors.
B) Among the most misogynistic things I've ever seen.

BLECH.

"Trucker's Delight" accurately describes this video.

This is one of those times I'm glad to have read the comments before watching. Enough people here that I know have expressed enough distaste for this that I really feel like there's no need for me to watch this. Thanks, Mefi commenters!

Fun! The reference to Kings of Power was definitely warranted (in just about every way).

Yes, I felt for the hippo-guy and yes I wanted the blonde lady to win, but sometimes some dudes from France want to make a weird counter-cultural pixel movie and put it on French Youtube, and that's just the price we pay for freedom.

Horray for power-up blocks!

This was absolutely nothing like the time I anally violated a 500 metre tall woman in a conveniently hijacked jet before ejaculating into my own face. In space.

"Demure" is not the word I'd use for this.

If you're spending an excess of free time animating homophobic and misogynistic rape sequences instead of doing, say, almost anything else, then I'm thinking we won't be friends.

This isn't art. It is boredom and insecurity.
