And yes, tilt-shift is the photographic equivalent of auto-tune. posted by rottytooth at 11:56 AM on November 22, 2009
i came for the dog-pile on tilt-shift abuse, but it's 4 comments in and i'm already late. posted by klanawa at 11:59 AM on November 22, 2009
To be fair, it's only a small minority of the photographs that are tilt-shift. posted by bjrn at 12:01 PM on November 22, 2009

Well, this guy isn't doing his stuff in PhotoShop (or is he? :-), and didn't exactly start doing this because it's the latest trend on the interweb -- his career is a bit longer than that. posted by effbot at 12:05 PM on November 22, 2009
I like these photos.

"Wow, tilt-shift. How original.'
well a lot of those tilt shift shots date back to 1995, so yeah, they probably were pretty original back then.
I don't care if the mechanics of achieving these pieces are readily available. These images are beautiful. Many of them made me think again about the way I normally perceive clusters of buildings or business spaces. Thanks Vronsky. posted by bearwife at 1:26 PM on November 22, 2009
Recognizing and photographing patterns in the modern world around us: he's a poor man's Andreas Gursky.
I don't like tilt-shifts in general. Some of the other shots are kind of nice. I was going to make another "Oh look it's a guy with a camera" comment, but then I figured, why be so crude? If anyone put up a post about my photography, I'm sure it would get the same kind of snark, but as we are being smothered with ubiquitous photography these days, most of it drivel, any attempt to retain a modicum of artfulness should be at least noted, if not applauded. posted by Poagao at 4:39 PM on November 22, 2009
(It's a shame that Flickr remains so hard to navigate. It really only works as a slideshow.) posted by vronsky at 6:28 PM on November 22, 2009
Thanks, Vronsky. I've been wonderingly lately about other venues besides Flickr, as well as if I should put images I would like to publish elsewhere up there as well. posted by Poagao at 8:46 PM on November 22, 2009
