Neutra Face A SLYT for the font-geeks out there (and I suppose there are some Gaga geeks around as well).

I'm fonts over Gaga!

Actually I pretty much imagine most mefites to look like these guys, Lady Gaga-singing and all. I'll be really disappointed if most people here turn out not to have ridiculous mustaches.

Very impressive. And funny. That one guy can really dance, or at least move sinuously.

Least irritating font-geek post in a long time.

Even in, bold italic!
Kinda in love with all those bearded guys now.

I have a beard right now, but only because i'm too lazy to shave.

I do sing Lady Gaga in the shower, though.

lovely. the keyboard was kind of nasty and a bit too loud but hey, I love neutra face.

As a minor-league font nerd who sang Poker Face in karaoke league a few weeks ago, I really enjoyed that. Also, I'll be nthing the awesomeness of the bearded dudes, and even the Gael Garcia Bernal kind of dude without a beard at all.

Geeky & awesome.

I don't know if there's much (or any) overlap between font nerds and theatrical lighting nerds, but clearly Lady Gaga lies in the middle of that strange Venn diagram. The electricians from Santa Fe Opera recorded a similar video called Focus Tape.

I used Neutraface in a project a couple of years ago and now I can't stop seeing it. My girlfriend even recognizes it (I think it's the off-center crossbar on the E). I seriously saw it 3 times today around Manhattan.

And even after all this it's still a gorgeous font. Although I feel nerdy when I pronounce it correctly.

Hm...I'm a little confused here. It made me laugh and turned me on. I can't be the only one...

I sent it to a friend of mine and all she said was: "I'd hit it if he were straight."

That was really good. Something about Poker Face makes it so easy to adapt.

So. Awesome.

I'll be really disappointed if most people here turn out not to have ridiculous mustaches.

I was actually contemplating shaving my current ridiculous mustache, Solon. I'll keep it a couple more days at least to stave off any disappointment.

I'm confused; I recently grew my Joseph Conrad type moustache. Initially because I didn't shave for a few weeks because of illness and then out of sheer wtf attitude about my life in general.
Nobody I know wears any moustaches/beards save for a few guys who do the 3 day stubble thing.
So I felt rather eccentric.

But now seeing this video I'm worried. Please explain the semantics of this kind of moustache/beard to me. Am I sending out unintentional gay vibes? That's not what I aim for. I'd rather have female attention.
Or is this a hipster thing? I'm not sure we have hipsters in NL. If only because the word is english. Can you be middle aged and hipster? Is that desirable?

Btw the video is fun even though caring about type is to me comparable to caring about stamps.

Ooh, do you get all German and pronounce it "noy-tra-fah-seh"?

I am a font nerd, and I love Neutra. It's always been a "go-to" font in my design work; I have 85 (!) weights on my computer.

Please don't hate me.

Thanks for the post.

I crawled out from my bunker to watch the original video for the first time after seeing Neutra Face and have to say that the parody is at least 197.3 times more creative than the original.

The costumes and office setting had a real Mad Men sort of feel, except that everyone knows that Gill Sans is the font of Sterling Cooper (Neutraface not being available in 1961 in normal, condensed, bold or italics).

I have an unshavable mustache. It leaves a dark, obvious shadow, no matter what I do to shave (electric, cartridge razor, etc). If I go for a closer shave, it fights back by leaving a painful rash.

I'm thinking it's probably because my MeFi account has intrinsically changed me, and someday I will need to embrace a full, luxuriant beard.

Also, I like Lady Gaga, and I normally hate pop music. Clearly, I'm well into the transformation.

IT COST ME WAY MORE THAN $5, MATT!

I love Neutraface.

But just to be sure I'm read correctly: a parody work whose major elements are drawn from existing works (a music video and a television show) is more creative than their originals.

No envy there.
