Izza Kizza - I'm The Izza Kizza (lyrics nsfw) by Yoram Benz of Decon Media (YouTube channel).

His style is at times reminiscent of www.60x1.com (which unbelievably has not had its own FPP yet).
Also by Benz: Plantlife - Sumthin About Her, Cool Kids - Pennies (2k version), his showreel set to Amanda Blank's Gimme What You Got

An article from 2004 ... which explains why I hate to see rap music with NSFW lyrics on the front page of Metafilter.....

Whoa, a trippy video indeed.

And his delivery is catchy as hell. I think Izzy killed it, man.

HuronBob, maybe there's something I'm missing, but how is "a theoretical and practical text for psychotherapists examining women's coping mechanisms in reaction to severely stressful events and how they are often not recognized as symptoms of deeper problems" related to you apparently not liking rap?

shawnstruck... sorry, I corrected that, my copy/paste skills were faulty with the first link... (although the PTSD book is good as well, but a bit unrelated to rap, although, there might be a link if we look closely)

Huh. So when did the whole MF-Doom mushmouthed couplet style get big?

I hadn't heard any Izza Kizza since "Walk That Dog." Thanks for posting it.

i really dig Izza Kizza's Push video, though it's just a mashup of news video clips. (warning: graphic, sad)

wow...really???? I guess I was wrong about the amount of content in rap that belittles women... and, there probably really isn't any ptsd created by being beaten...

Hey, thanks for posting this, I've been in the mood for some new (to me) hip-hop and this guy pushes all the right buttons for me: Missy/Timbo/Outkast/Doom type stuff. If anyone wants to hear more for free, here's a link to one of his mixtapes. Downloading now.

That's all, just thanks!

So, you just popped in to shit on rap music? Thanks for stopping by.

Not you, 2or3whiskeysodas, the guy in front of you. Also, agreed on the delightfully weird strain of hiphop you like.

"So, you just popped in to shit on rap music?"

Naw, I "popped in" to comment on the content of the lyrics being linked to (not rap in general, by the way), which, after watching a lot of young African-American men listen to that and believe it defines a life style they should strive for (only to find it leads to being abusive, fathering children they don't want and can't support, and getting involved in wanna-be gang fights and dying), I have a hard time saying "golly gee, that's neat!"

but, hey, if you want to celebrate it, go right ahead.

So, a video with nonsense lyrics being sung by a guy who's part robot, part stereo speaker makes young black men get into gang fights and father illegitimate children? Have you observed quite a bit of this where you live?

Ah, so you DID pop on in here to shit on rap music.

Anyhow, getting back on topic, that is a wonderfully trippy video, and I kind of wish Timbaland and him ended up collaborating on a project together like they wanted to. That would have been AWESOME.

Oh no...HuronBob and ShawnStruck joined MeFi on the SAME DAY. What are the chances of that happening? RIGHT. Don't you see? This PROVES it. It's all an elaborate ruse to divide us and create conflict among peacefully coexisting subcultures! Wake up sheeple!

Well, let me chime in and say that this bone-white Canadian thinks the linked video is just tremendous, and I'm "getting my freak on" right now. Seriously, this is creative, rhythmic, clever, and wonderful, and stuff like this makes life worth living with the other humans.
