'Louie vs. Plouie'?

It really is the thought that counts. I wonder if there is a very very small present included among all the other wrapped items. Like, say, a waste paper bin. Or a box of bandaids for the paper cuts...WAIT

Psh - I still see bare walls and floors... Kids these days...

(I liked it better when it was called Project Foil though. Gallery here.)

anigbrowl In the youtube comments the poster said his actual Christmas gift was mixed in with everything.
This is very fun. Something I would do if I was at home for a week and going slowly insane from Christmas Specials on TV.

From YT Comments:

"Amongst all his own stuff we wrapped i hid one box containing his christmas gift from me. So there will be something gained from all the unwrapping"

Also:
"he got home late last night and a video of his reaction was taken. I will have it up asap! "

The way someone reacts to something like this says a lot about their personality.

All that wrapping paper, but not a single ribbon? Amateurs.

I don't know why it was the couch in particular that cracked me up, but it did.

The Bah, Humbug! side of me wants to say some people have entirely too much time on their hands and there are plenty of charities that could use that kind of help during this time of year.

The playful kid side of me says Neato!

My favorite part was where he wrapped that guy's stuff.

I was pretty damn impressed before the reveal that it's more than just the first room that's wrapped.

Not especially original, but very well executed. I, too, was impressed with the large expanses of unwrinkled paper covering his sofa cushions.

I look forward to seeing the reaction video... you can tell a lot about the perpetrators of the prank from the victim's response, too. I prefer to see excessive-waste-producing gags performed with love, at least, instead of malice.

This person can gift wrap THE FUCK out of someone's apartment. Impressively done.

Here's a thread wherein Louie discovers what's happened to his apartment.
http://chicagoimprov.org/showthread.php?t=13503

For what it's worth, Louie and Adal are two of the finest improvisers in Chicago (along with some of the people in the linked list), so a prank of this magnitude isn't too surprising. Life is grand, ain't it?

The prank is the music set up to play continuously in this otherwise very nicely, if a little heavy on the prints, decorated apartment?

EvaDestruction: I don't know why it was the couch in particular that cracked me up, but it did.

For me it was the curtains that tipped me over from "this is pretty nice" to "my heart cannae get any bigger cap'n!"

That's a holly jolly response from him leo.. especially his plan for the coming months:

My plan is to keep everything wrapped and only open something when I need it, so I can yell "Oh my god! It's just what I wanted!"

I am super-glad that they didn't wrap the radiator.

I love how ABSOLUTELY unutilizable things are when they are wrapped in paper. "I just...can't...USE IT!!!"

It's nice to know I'm not the only sick bastard who thought of that.

for me it was the freezer that made be finally giggle...

As a once-upon-a-time member of the Chicago Improv Scene, all I can say is OF COURSE this had to have happened there, considering this part of the prank (mentioned in the forum linked above):
Also, just in case you thought the prank seemed entirely wholesome, there are pictures left all over my apartment that include:

- Me fighting my own dick
- Santa Clause climbing down a chimney that leads directly to my ass
- A stocking full of dicks
- Me fucking a unicorn with a dick on its head that is coming backward into me creating an infinite unicorn fucking loop.

So, wholesome enough for my standards...

Every time I see one of these pranks I kind of wish they'd mention the vital stats -- how many people were working for how many hours, and how many rolls of paper were needed.

I wonder what the plan was if the roommate called to say he wasn't coming back for an extra two weeks?

I kind of want to live in the Christmas house.

There is a couple in Marin that have a second house (~4000 sq/ft) that is almost full of Christmas decorations. I attended a slightly ridiculous quarter million dollar costume wedding for their feckless son who changed his mind but instead of cancelling just didn't sign the marriage license. Long story short, a house full of department store sized Christmas decor is actually more than a bit creepy.

Can't help with time or paper consumption, Rhomboid, but the forum thread mentioned above lists about twenty people.

Holy crap I just realized I know some of these people. I went to school with Adal Rifai. He was in the acting program while I was on the tech side. This was amusing on it's own, but I'm even more amused now. Nice job Adal.

FWIW as a follow up, apparently MTV has seen this video now and has contacted the perpetrator, to what end I do not yet know.
