Rage is Xmas No. 1 in UK

The Facebook campaign to beat the X-Factor single to the top of the UK singles chart has been successful. Rage Against the Machine's Killing in the Name [Spotify] made the number 1 spot in today's Christmas chart. The campaign included a controversial radio appearance. Previously on MeFi.

Bookies will be paying out hundreds of thousands of pounds:

Eh, it's just disaffected people giving the middle finger to candy store pop producers and marketers. It's just one noise canceling out another, and isn't really all that laudable in any respect except for the money raised for charity.
