I do like me a picross.

The addition of color is interesting in that the rules don't insist on an empty space between color boundaries. Got me once before I figured that out. Still throws off my counting though. :)

I really enjoy the picross puzzles on Griddlers. Try doing one of the Griddlers with boxes that are half-and-half, or better yet, one of the Triddlers. Puzzles range from very easy to ridiculously, insanely hard.
