An 80:2 injury ratio with a petrol injected 4 stroke.1.6L that gets 42.2 MPG. flashy. like the chevette. and probably 21k to own. though i dont like AC as an option. as for riots, i would suggest the staccato of small arms fire. ya know, to clear the air. (small bursts in the air) no offense but the situation looks like a bobby bumpercar bund. I think this car will SELL.

I just know that I won't be the idiot going 124 MPH in one of those flaming thimbles.

Selling my '68 Mini Cooper to pay for grad school was the stupidest thing I have ever done. Driving one was more fun than any other car I have been in. You can find out what US BMW dealers will carry the mini here. The line starts after me...

I'm not sure what the link to the riots has to do with the car...anyway, heard about the new mini awhile ago, and I have to say, I can't wait! Sign me up now, I love it. I've always loved Minis, and all the little cars like it, like those cute Fiats you see around Europe. I don't need a big car, and this will fit in all those parking spots that the SUVs have to pass up. :)

I'll have to get two, one for each foot.

Meanwhile, Americans drive stinking tanks to the corner grocery. But that's America.

I think that the connection to that riot report is the picture of the burnt-out BMW dealership.

damn, imagine pulling out the stock engine and putting a turbocharged smallblock V-8 in it. :) just to drive to the grocery store...

Yeah, well, we have to drive the SUV so we have more space for McDonald's food and handguns while we drive.

Stereotype, anyone? They're fresh! I made 'em myself!

If they'd only bring back the Isetta. . .

Megnut, SUVs never pass up parking spaces, they just take up three! ;)

A 4-cylinder, 90bhp vehicle that costs more than $20,000 and doesn't come with air conditioning standard? Somebody please explain where the excitement is coming from. I don't understand! And don't just say it's fun to drive, because I've had cars that were fun to drive and also didn't require a mortgage to buy.

And don't just say it's fun to drive, because I've had cars that were fun to drive and also didn't require a mortgage to buy.

Number one: £11,000 for the Cooper will probably mean $15,000ish for the US model. If not, I'll buy one and ship it over myself.

Number two: A/C just isn't standard on British cars, because it's not particularly useful for the climate, and hammers fuel efficiency.

Number three: if you've never been in one of the old Minis, you'll not understand the affection in which they're held. (My dad's first car was a Mini 850. Yes, as in 850cc engine. It was gorgeous.) And the people who've worked on the new model -- including a friend of mine -- have put about five years work into retaining that charm. Unlike the New Beetle, which is basically a Golf with funky bodywork, this has been designed from scratch.

I. So. Want. One.

hildago-i thought same thing. i wouldnt let that 4 pop fool ya, she got some 'poahwwdare'(the best phonetic scotty i can pull) The AC option should have been obvious, taking in englands climate. since its Kaliforne emissions friendly, no huge hidden cost from the docks. the original minis where titz. 0-62 in 9 sumtin is good. the chevette did, what, 0-62 in 9.3 days. golfwithfunkybodywork -hehehn or a fiorello with a bowler cap. my guess...17,900 detroit $ for a nice mini.

I live about a mile from the Cowley works where the new mini is built. I've seen a few on the streets of East Oxford over the last couple of months. I assume owned by BMW staff. I won't be getting one - I need something a little bigger!

I always wanted an MGTD. When are they going to start making those again? (If it turns out to be made by BMW or Mazda, so much the better. My garage floor is already rotted out from the oil dripped by my Genuine British Triumph 650. This bike has used more cat litter than my cats ever did.)

P.S. Prac, this should amuse you in particular. "Incent" is now a verb.
