@Burhanistan - I didn't omit the risque outfits out of prudishness, just using my editorial eye, the few photos I had available to use that were risque were either not great photos, didn't fit with the collection or format, or were a bit too blatant. I was actually hoping I might be able to use my nudity screen for a couple of photos here, but what I had at hand didn't lend itself to that.

Interesting calendar fact that just occurred to me:
Ash Wednesday is a bit over 7 weeks before Easter.
Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring (usually).
Chinese New year is the second new moon after the winter solstice.
Therefore a good portion of the time, Chinese New Year will occur during Carnival.
Which is unsurprising, given that both celebrations are the lunar equivalent commemorations of the cross-quarter beginning of spring that is also marked on the solar calendar by Groundhog Day.
