Wow. Japanese Bill Plympton has lost his mind.

The artist is Shintaro Kago.

You weren't kidding. I like the concept at first but then it becomes unnecessarily explicit. I'd like to see the same thing done without the, um, pruriency.

From his Wikipedia page:

"Kago likes to describe his works as "Shit"."

this was linked up on the blue a while ago with more supporting info. The post was about horror comics in Japan. and one where these people shaped tunnels are discovered in the ground that compels people to start walking into them, screaming because they get smaller, and can't back out.

If anyone knows of this post, put it up, my finding skills are not on.

Let me just take this opportunity to say this here, since I can't say it in the original thread: Holy Fuck.

I think this double post should be left here just to add further confusion and disorientation.

This is exactly why you shouldn't have sex while on a salvia/DMT bender.

Or, depending on your outlook on life, exactly why you should.

"An interesting comic," "Japan," "NSFW."

Oh, no, not falling for that twice. Nice try.

You might also want to warn the people who are cranky from sleep deprivation in the other thread that viewing this will only exacerbate their problem.

I now know of Ero Guro Nansensu (NSFW?*), commonly shortened to Ero guro. From wikipedia:
Ero guro puts its focus on eroticism, sexual corruption and decadence. This movement is often used incorrectly by western audiences to mean "gore"—depictions of horror, blood, and guts. In actuality the "grotesque" term implies malformed, unnatural or horrific. While ero guro is a specific movement, many of its components can be found throughout Japanese history and culture. Items that are pornographic and bloody are not necessarily ero guro.
* NSFW if you find poorly drawn (and more confusing than erotic) insect/human sex not safe for work.

The up side to all this? I learned about Javan Leaf-Insect - Phyllium bioculatum, thanks to verifying that "Entomolonooky" meant what I thought it meant.

Doing to the human body what the comic frame does to the field of perception, translating the page to a 3d space - the conventions of the form mix in with the content, in a way that reminds me of the Newgarden piece Love's Savage Fury.
