Oh man this is beautiful and yet so sad. There was a website called "Let Me Show You Vermont" that was incredible in its depth and breadth that has been offline since... the end of 2004. Awwww. Nice blog post, thanks.

Wow, these are great! My family is spread out all over VT, and I've been to most of the towns she features.

I'm particularly fond of this one, as Snap's in Bristol was named after my grandfather's best friend.

I live roughly a quarter mile from the first drawing in this post.

I've been away for a few weeks and this really made me miss home. Alright, crying now.

By coincidence, I'm right now planning a summer vacation to Vermont. I've never been there, but these images, and the writing, are giving me eager palpitations. I can't wait to get to Bennington...

Yeah, makes me miss the place - moreso even than old photographs i have hanging around the house. I really like her style, but it certainly doesn't help in that regard. I look forward to seeing what she picks when she finally makes it to Northfield.

I guess vermont is oversaturated.

As always, I like the sketches a lot more than the "real paintings." It always makes me happiest when artists post their sketches like this!

Oil paint on black and white photographs! Just beautiful. The artist's bold use of color is so affecting. And they are available for purchase? Hmmmm...

This just scratches the surface. I have always liked Bellows Falls.(Not in the link, Yet) It is joy to tour through the state.

I just moved out of VT 18 months ago. This post makes me miss the beauty that is Vermont. Good thing I get to go back every few weeks for work.... For those of you up for a challenge you can always do this, it's a great way to see the state.

This is nice color!

I just ate at the Cockadoodle pizza cafe on Friday. The skewed perspective is actually perfect, since I think the floors were not even remotely level.

I like that she doesn't choose obvious subjects for her paintings. Trailers, old barns and simple houses are as much a part of the total landscape as perfect white churches.

I remain not much a fan of the Green Mountain State, but this is a very nice site. I especially like the view of Randolph jessamyn mentions, including the store in front of which I parked a few weeks ago to check its street number, knowing her house was very close. I am a huge fan of maps with check boxes, though, and thus find that — being stuck here too far from the Maine coast off and on over the last five years — I've wandered through 2/3 of the 251.

Most of my VT these days seems to be a huge clump of traffic, red lights, and ugly stores as I try to get beyond the Route 7 strip in South Burlington. Not very scenic at all. Anyway, fans of VT views like the ones in the Let Me Show You blog probably would enjoy the photography of my good friend Jon in Norwich. He's been at it a long time, all across New England, and in the last few years has been gaining greater acclaim, like this feature in the current issue of Yankee.
