It's the twentieth anniversary of Tim O'Briens brilliant collection of stories of war and friendship and love, and The Things They Carried. It was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award, and won the French Prix du Meilleur Livre Étranger. It's being reissued in paperback and hardcover. You can participate in an webcast or hear him interviewed on Talk of the Nation tomorrow, Wednesday March 23rd. He is known to be a bit of a recluse, so if you can make one of these readings, it will be worth your effort.
