Rats. I could have sworn I searched properly.

I am greatly edified by this.

For a while now I have very much intended to purchase an antique radio (or preferably just the shell of one in order to stick wireless speakers inside). It's illumed dial and crackly, barely-audible issuance of reports of a particular antarctic expedition shall be the pièce de résistance in a project I call 'the Lovecraft room'. I'm having a bastard of time out-bidding the vintage restoration nerds and the steampunkers though, so in the meantime this will have to do.

Well, I'm glad for the double, because I missed it the first time around.

Those are great! It's sad that all we get now are boring black tuning wheels and iPod docks on our toasters.

i do not mind this double, and will refer to it in my mind as "the volume knob".

That said, while this is still open, does anybody have an answer for seliopou's question?

"The fourth one from the bottom (remember to scroll). Is there a name for that sort of aesthetic?"

I wondered this myself at the time, maybe somebody knows now.

I don't know, but chances are the designer was John Vassos.

Saw it the first time, but am grateful for the reminder. They are fascinating things.

Try using the "Print Screen" button (on PCs. I don't know the Mac equivalent) and then paste it into something. You can even paste it into Word, if you don't have Photoshop or anything like it.

And yeah, these are great! Thanks!
