"I'm here today with something of an apology,'' said Silicon Valley VC guru John Doerr. In his speech ... Doerr offered a revised version of his Internet quote. He projected a slide on a screen that described the Internet as "the largest legal creation (and evaporation) of wealth in the history of the planet."

"Doerr also offered a bleak prediction Sunday that the nation has entered a technology recession that will last longer and could spread wider than some economists have forecast."

Gee, if he was wrong back in 1995, maybe he's wrong about this prediction, too.

is he offering anyone any of their money back?

I'd be interested in seeing how he's doing. I'll bet he's come through it all just fine....
