I really, really dug this. Paper copy ordered! posted by dirtdirt at 8:46 AM on March 31, 2010
I love the style of the artwork! I will save this for later, when I won't have work stuff to distract me. posted by Atom Eyes at 8:48 AM on March 31, 2010
That was great. I have huge respect for people who tell a story purely through pictures, without resorting to dialogue. It takes a real understanding of visual language. posted by slimepuppy at 8:57 AM on March 31, 2010 [1 favorite]
It's...unfinished, right? Otherwise I'm not sure I get the ending.
Awesome work, though. posted by circular at 9:26 AM on March 31, 2010
I loved it, but am sad to admit I didn't quite get the ending. He finished modding his PS3, and was able to find joy in the world again? posted by Theta States at 9:41 AM on March 31, 2010
Was he able to use his machine to see in to some kind of a "robot soul" that he had be searching for? posted by Theta States at 9:50 AM on March 31, 2010
Oh hey, the guy lives in my city! I'm tempted to call the number on his website and be all "hi, you don't know me, but about the flash of light coming out of the guy's apartment..." posted by Theta States at 9:56 AM on March 31, 2010
Lovely art, but the ending was...telegraphed. posted by Brandon Blatcher at 10:43 AM on March 31, 2010

It's important to finish your time machine, so you can go back and finish some uplifting graffiti. posted by Uther Bentrazor at 12:04 PM on March 31, 2010 [2 favorites]
Really enjoyed this until I couldn't figure the ending. I thought they were going to be friends! posted by lholladay at 12:13 PM on March 31, 2010
Thanks for posting this, killdevil!
I apologize if the ending is too ambiguous for some people's liking. It was never my intention to reveal what the machine does, so you'll just have to use your imaginations.
Hey, Robot Johnny, I really liked this. You wouldn't want a clearer ending (or why would you think about it later?) or a more unexpected ending (that would be too unsatisfying...)
Keep up the good work... do you have a mailing list? posted by lupus_yonderboy at 6:02 PM on March 31, 2010
That was lovely, thanks. posted by gwint at 7:58 PM on March 31, 2010
Ha! I didn't realize the ending was the ending. It thought it would be laid out in the next few weeks or months.
It's better this way. Because we know what has happened, and what will happen.
