There are many Lady Gaga parodies online, but this one is particularly topical. Scott Brown and Sarah Palin in Senate Vote.[SLYT]

I couldn't find a Juggalo Romance parody, so you'll have to settle for the frat bros.

How about a Juggalo Western?

Metafilter: I can't shut up about Lady Gaga for five minutes.

That Brown/Palin parody is cute, but ultimately tedious, whereas the "Rad Bromance" video is fantastic on several levels.

A good rule to keep in mind with these things: Politics ruins everything. Even things that apparently cannot be ruined - like Lady Gaga parodies.

So, out of curiousity, has anyone found a recut version of the video which edits out the 6-7 minutes of filler fluff around the actual track?

Because that would be worthy of an FPP.

For the record: I posted this because I like bad, tedious videos in an Everything-Is-Terrible kind of way (hence the contrived tag). 20 years from now, when our kids are using telepathy instead of the internet to communicate, they'll be forwarding this to each other. I was just afraid saying so in the description would sink this thread as poorly framed.

Hopefully my threadshitting won't kill my own thread.

I don't think I understand anything anymore.

BTW, my snark was directed at padded music videos, not the thread. They're like DVDs with unskippable trailers.

Is there a reason this can't go in the still open Lady Gaga post (also by mccarty.tim) ?

Pop culture got thrown in a blender, and Lady Gaga is what poured out.

So I'm flipping channels today, and Telephone's playing on teen-oriented-ad-delivery-system-that-rarely-plays-music. I keep flipping. And there, playing on CMT, at the very same time, is the Dixie Chicks' (actually pretty similar) take on husband-murdering: Goodbye Earl, starring Dennis Franz and Jane Krakowski.

I think my favorite part of that Scott Brown parody is that it seems to have been posted on March 30th, a good week or so after the health care bill passed.

Hey now, this ain't no Joe Jackson thread!

It's a Dixie Chicks thread, right?

Weirdly, the thing that pissed me off most about this video is that "Scott Brown" has a southern accent. He's from Wrentham, MA!

I don't understand the significance of Scott Brown having an Austrian flag painted on his chest.

I think my favorite part of that Scott Brown parody is that it seems to have been posted on March 30th, a good week or so after the health care bill passed.

At the end of the video, a radio announcer is heard to declare that Obama is signing the HCR bill, and Scott Brown's reaction is, "Shit, I guess that didn't work."

Austrian economics? That's big on libertarian free markets. It's like the Chicago School, but older and with less failed connotations.

That's my best guess.

I never thought I'd say it, but that Brown/Palin video needs Autotune. Seriously! It's fine satire I guess, but the satire and fabulous Scott Brown costumes are overshadowed by the horrible singing.

That Palin has zero flow. I suspect the actual Sarah Palin is a better rapper than that.

Still, it's better than anything The Capitol Steps ever did. Amirite?
posted by rusty at 7:54 AM on April 27, 2010

Esquire magazine has an article on her in May's issue, calling her the “grandmother of pop music.”

I spotted it yesterday, but figured we'd all be better off without it being turned into yet another FPP about her.

No offense, Tim. I'm less than gaga about Gaga at the moment. Too much media saturation.
