Super Bowl Weekend of the Auto Art World

Art Car Weekend is just days away! Worth a trip to Houston. I am happy to see the Art Car Ball, a combination of concert, block party, art exhibit, and performance art venue, return to the lineup. If you view the parade from the north side of the parkway in Elanor Tinsley Park, you get to see all your favorite cars twice!

Drat! I meant that last link to point to the Houston Art Cars, not to the Orange Show Website again.

The art car parade is certainly a fun spectacle that every Texan should see once. Don't forget to check out the Art Car Museum -- a wacky metal building in the heart of an increasingly gentrified area.

Glancing over the front page, I read this as "Car Art Bell" (wtf, I know).

Imagine my disappointment upon clicking...

Although this is a great event, those who've been on the BFCT may feel many of these fall short of the name "Art Cars"

I went to 2 Art Car Shows in the late 90's. The Art Car Ball is worth the trip alone.

This just depresses me. I've painted three artcars so far. There is no way to drive to Houston from Honolulu.

Oddly enough, a few weeks ago in west Houston, I saw a car with Hawaii plates. It was a late model Land Rover with stock paint, though.

This is the best parade ever, no joke. The cat car that screams "MEOW MEOW MEOW!" will always stay close to my heart.
