Hue Shift

Thursday flash fun: Hue Shift - an addictive endless action platformer. You are controlling a pixel that can shift its color to red, green and blue. Climb as high as you can by matching your hue to the color of the platforms. Beware, only platforms with your color are solid! (via Rock, Paper, Shotgun)
491m. Fuck this game.

that is to say, interesting game mechanic, if not frustrating

Yeah, in the interest of full disclosure: I like the game conceptually but cannot wrap my head around it and thus keep failing miserably. Hence the GRRRAAAAARR tag.

What a wonderful concept.
What a horrible, horrible game.
I suck so hard I couldn't even make it onto the third platform (the blue one if it's always the same).

My main gripe with this game is that it doesn't get any harder as you go along. I got to 5000 before getting bored and throwing myself into the abyss.q

Maybe it's time to upgrade that monochrome monitor.

I can't find this previously posted, but Primary is another color-shifting platformer, although this one is finite, has kind of highish production values, and has a long slow difficulty ramp.

Okay, the key is to use the second control method. Eventually your brain figures it out. One thing you start looking for is runs of platforms in the same color.
This is probably as good as canabalt, honestly.

What's frustrating is that there isn't a better visual cue that platforms are no longer solid and you can pass through them. This is probably why a lot of people are failing miserably and are getting frustrated.

Another fun tip - you can jump through multiple platforms to get higher quicker. I only made it to 800 but I'm at work and trying not to get caught.

Got to 6500, then quit out of boredom. Once you've really learned the color->button mappings, the game becomes trivial. Great idea, though, I just wish something was added as the game goes on to keep it interesting--as it is, it's not nearly as replayable as Canabalt.
