Ooh, I got a hole-in-one!

I don't think you understand metafilter.

Grrr, the 9th hole is killing me!

Mochomedia doesn't understand that their image is directly tied to abject frustration in my head now.

Fun game, just finished playing a round. And I can't recall any specifics on the advertising - take that adverputt!

final score: 3309

pretty fun little flash game, though I had a moment of disappointment about halfway through. I originally thought that the holes were being dynamically generated from the shapes of the advertiver's logos. When I realized that the logos were just decals on a static course, I felt let down.

Combines the best aspects of advertising and miniature golf. Combines the best aspects of advertising and miniature golf. Combines the best aspects of advertising and miniature golf.

Sorry. I had to say that three times and it still doesn't make any sense.

that was fun. Didn't mind being advertised to.

They say "Free sponsorship to top 12 websites that link to Adverputt [by] May 14."
I would be amused if this got MeFi on Adverputt.

LSK: I was kind of thinking that too.

I enjoyed the mini-golf.

I don't recall a single company that was advertising to me during it.

To me, that's a win.

It's neat. The advertising is refreshingly honest. I got 3,323 the first time, then 4,804 the second time once I knew what to do on some of the more visually confusing holes.

Actually, the advertisers all seem to be supportive creative projects/agencies right now, so I'm kind of cool with the advertising too.

(except you, mochimedia...)

I am frustratingly bad at mini-golf in real life - and, apparently, on the internet. Damn you, Emma James, physio.

I propose a MeFi splash page where AskMeFi, MeTa, etc could have their own hole.

Hmmm- I don't remember any of the ads either. No matter, the programming will kick in next time I'm in the mall....

I don't remember any of the ads either. But, I have to leave the interwebs now to get me a steaming hot cup of Mochi.

...steaming hot cup of Mochi.

Every Russian-speaker on this - including myself - site just chuckled to themselves a little.

The advertising is refreshingly honest.

That we live in a world where this is an expressed sentiment made me want to kill myself in the face with a nasty, rusted hammer.

3797. A good, simple game. Too bad about the advertisements.

looks like british ads. saw one for Strangehaven and sure enough it's for Gary Spencer Millidge's excellent comic but his site hasn't been updated since last December. Then it turns out the game was created by Reece Millidge and dampgnat.com seems to be a showcase for Dan Millidge. couldn't figure out how to play the game though, as soon as I moved the mouse the shot would fire and not have any power.

People who hate advertising must not be very creative...I guess I used to hate it when I never did anything, but when you actually produce something it's helpful to figure out ways to get people to find and purchase it. I mean 90% of advertising is terrible but that's just because of the 90% rule.

Anyway one of the ads was for the amazing British graphic novel Strangehaven and I was like OMG A NEW STRANGEHAVEN but alas still no updates since 2005.

Aha! Thanks sineater. So that's what Millidge has been doing with his time...making webverts and writing books about graphic design.

CUT IT OUT REECE MAKE MORE STRANGEHAVEN.
YES I KNOW IT DOESNT MAKE ANY MONEY BUT I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT

i had to yell so he'd hear me.

I see a mini golf course but no way to actually play mini golf. Where's the ball?

Life is bogies, highness. Any course that gives you mostly birdies and eagles is trying to sell you something.

why are the high scores so high? x_x isn't the point of golf to reduce your score?
