What happened to stileproject? (warning: not for the sensitive types) One of the weirdest sites I've seen (aside from the raunchy porn, that is; he was how I found the kung-fu stick men) now seems to be gone. What gives?

Looks like it was hacked to me.

Looks like it was hacked to me.

i guess that would explain the poor grammar and bad spelling.

or it could be stile faking a hack, looking for some luv from his readership.

hey, moz: i think i like that theory even better!

Stile has faked his own death on his webcam, faked his site getting hacked, faked his site getting shifted over to new management, and so on.

But this doesn't have the feel of an over-the-top fake hack attempt; seems real enough to me. It looks like they just replaced the index.html on his site... All his other files appear to be intact.

Umm, have you read stile before? ;)

good point, jragon...but "I wouldn't have leet spl0its" is bad even by stile's standards.

Who cares?

I don't mean that in a rude way, but why should we sit around and try to figure out "is it real" or not? I've read stile before, and I've gotten a few laughs out of it, etc., but this guy gets his jollies fucking with his readers heads. That's just bullshit, IMO. By talking about it, we're just encouraging him. The site will be back up soon, I'm sure. Until then, go visit Consumption Junction or something (warning: cj contains some pretty nasty stuff. Your inner child will feel all raped and molested when you leave.)

i don't really care...it was curiousity more than anything.

but as far as encouraging stile: hey, i'm all for it - his wacky antics are at best amusing, and at worst, pleasantly distracting.

Point taken, mapalm. I suppose if you frequent stileproject, you know what you're getting into.

his wacky antics are at best amusing, and at worst, pleasantly distracting.

But doesn't "amusing" mean "pleasantly distracting"? :-)

it's that damned Inner Nonce...

indeed...meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but somehow still satisfying.

yep.

i'm sure it's fake. like mentioned earlier... faked hacks, faked suicides, faked take overs.

he was once cool. back when he wasn't an attention whore.

now it's all porn, death, and viagra ads.

ugh. lame. why do people like him again? he gives 16 year olds access to as much porn and autopsy pics that they want? i'll never get it.

...aside from the raunchy porn, that is...

Don't you think it says something when we can actually distinguish between "good" porn and "raunchy" porn?

From the curent index:

Stile Project temporarily unavailable:

Due to circumstances outside of our control, Stile Project is currently unavailable. Things will be back up eventually. Your patience is appreciated.

We're moving to a new ISP and the site shouldn't be down for more than 4 hours max.

From the even more current index:

the site was hacked at 11:00 this morning. i didn't have a backup, everything is gone. i quit. thanks for the 2 years. sorry it had to end this way.

here is a copy of the hack. if anyone knows who this guy is, let me know. hundreds of sites have been hit with this freebsd exploit, and i'm sure the FBI would love to know who this fuck is.

And how about this: google's cached copy of the hack.html page. Is this a relic of an older hack?

For whatever it's worth, here is some news coverage.

If it's another publicity stunt, that Newsbytes article is the apex. Then again, I haven't figured out why that report came out of Round Lake Beach, IL; there's nothing in Round Lake Beach.

Or maybe that explains it, after all.

Well, 85,000 hits a day is nothing to scoff at.

Better 85 people who care about what you have to say than 85,000 banging at the gates, demanding their death and pr0n.
