Draw With Me

Draw With Me (SLYT) is an original animated short by Mike Inel with an unexpectedly creepy ending.

There's also an older version that uses "Cherish" by Ai Otsuka as the background music instead.

What? It was nice and cute until the end. Ew.

You want a hand? I can get you a hand, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me. I'll get you a hand by this afternoon--with nail polish.

The sick part? His hand is fine, he just wanted her to feel sorry for him. And yeah, furries, ew.

I thought it was lovely! (And a little creepy at the end). And the animation is great for hand-drawing -- all the processing helps.

The creepiest part? That she can somehow get stuff through the glass but was content to watch him smash up his hand.

I think she threw the box over the wall - like the boy did with the pieces of chalk at the beginning.

Creepy? Really? I'd say poignant more than creepy. He wants to be with her, and so sacrifices the thing that allows him to connect with her. It's like O Henry's the Gift of the Magi, only with Furries.

Ironic, perhaps.

What, specifically, was the thing that creeped some of you out?

Mythmaker, did you miss the arm in the box at the end? Because severed body parts are not most people's idea of a nice token of affection. Unless you're Vincent van Gogh.

So... why does she think that giving him a severed hand is going to help? Now they both can't draw? And, given time he can become proficient with his off hand. And how do they eat? And drink? And ... meh.
