Ok, who's the wise guywho decided to crush-link me? And do you prefer i set you on fire before or push you off of a cliff?

i figured i'd try to find out who it was... i entered about 20 e-mail addresses ([e-mail], [e-mail], [e-mail]... et al), and i had to sign up for 'netflip' and 'start earning cash on the net', and what did i get? two hints. my crush's first name has 6 letters, and their last name has 5. ugh. anyone know how many e-mails you have to feed this thing?!?

I got one a couple weeks ago. You simply follow the link in the email or in the small print on their site to never receive another crushlink message from them again, and you can effectively ignore this for life.

Maybe it was fnirt.

The thing I hate most about these crushlinks is that sometimes the email address isn't something I would give out, which makes me think they're harvesting them from somewhere. Once I received a crushlink for [e-mail], a totally business only email address for some web design company I was associated with.

Someone somewhere might have a crush on you, but I doubt they've ever used Crushlink. It's a cleverly designed e-mail scam.

i think it was crushlink which attached my address to all the spamming porn e-mailers and IMers. i get at least 5-10 a day. thanks, guys.

it's hidden on the 'about' page, but here's the opt-out page for crushlink.

I have to wonder though if they won't sell your opted-out e.mail address to another e.mail pest 'for entertainment purposes'. They say they won't, but further down they also say that "A user's name and e-mail address will be shared with another registered user..." What if that registered user is another spammer? Seems like a cozy bit of legalese to me. Of course, these opt-outs are just a finger in the dyke it seems.

After thinking about this for sometime I have narrowed the field down to either former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar, child star Hayley Mills, or actor Willem Dafoe.

Bernie Kosar's real first name is Bernard. Which has 7 letters.

So it's either Hayley or Willem.

Sorry waxpancake, the spammers have ruined hotmail - I don't open anything from Hotmail if I don't know the sender; I don't know about the other sites, but the Mule's e-mails come from 'no_reply_possible@ americanmule.com' which has at least a chance of being opened.

It must me Hayley Mills!

This bio even states that she has recently been spending most of her time stateside (you didn't hear it from me, but it is probably to be closer to you).

As an added bonus, she has also spurt forth a verfiable rock star from her gently-aged womb. You could be the over-bearing stepfather that makes him a household name!!!
