Those of us who were Asteroids masters always looked askance at Pac-Man players.

If you want to know how they did this (hint: it's not Flash), grab the obfuscated source code from here: http://www.google.com/logos/js/pacman10-hp.2.js and then paste it in here: http://jsbeautifier.org/ and click the Beautify button. (It's neat. You can add your own levels and stuff.)

I haven't played that damn game in years but the muscle memory of the original was still there, but since the divider positioning is different I got stuck a few times. At any rate, I got pretty bored with it on the third level and then just stopped playing--just like the original. A faithful rendition!

You can reunite the Mr. and Ms. by inserting more than one coin and using WASD to control the second Pac.

Tomorrow: Atari sues Google for copyright infringement; DMCA takedown notice; the last of my faith in human decency is lost.

damn, that was fun. and just like half of metafilter, I came here to post it. Easily the best google home page of the day ever.

Of course, I sucked at the original, so no suprise I sucked at this one.
