Captain Beany from the planet Beanus

Eccentric or not? Captain Beany is a Welsh eccentric who loves baked beans, the dish so beloved of the British.

He has changed his name and now wanders around in a superhero costume farting at people. Here he is in costume demonstrating an invention with similar intent.

His house is now a museum devoted to the bean

He stood in the 2010 election and did not come last in his constituency.

He trademarked "credit crunch" as the name of a chocolate bar and Selfridges in London ended up paying him for the IP.

In 2005 he was convicted on fraudulently claiming income support benefit.

If you insist, here is a video of him (out of costume) "amusing" people on a train.

This guy lives in the same town as me. I was seriously considering voting for him the general election just for a laugh. In the end I didn't, but it did please me to see that he beat the UKIP candidate.
